Almudena García Calle |
Almudena García Calle is founder and partner of Aboo Partners, where she heads the Corporate Finance and the Financial Advisory Services Divisions, leading the execution of domestic and international M&A mandates and advising clients in their search for equity and debt partners. Almudena has an over 15 year combined experience in Investment Banking and Private Equity. She started her career in 1996 at Goldman Sachs in the London M&A and Corporate Finance Department advising large corporations. She specialized in Spanish and Latin American transactions, participating in sell and buy side, equity and other financing transactions in the Telecommunications and Media, Energy & Power and Real Estate sectors among others. In 2000, she joined Goetzpartners (Communications Equity Associates / Regent), Investment Bank focused on the Telecommunications, Media and Technology sectors, leading the Spanish M&A team. Almudena worked at Goetzpartners for over 7 years as Executive Director moving in 2007 to the Private Equity Fund, Monitor Capital Private Equity as Investment Director. Almudena seats on several Boards of Directors in services companies and is Managing Director of Villamejor Restauración. A Spanish national, Almudena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in Finance from ICADE (Universidad Pontificia de Comillas) where she graduated in 1997 with Premio Extraordinario mention (prize awarded to the most outstanding graduate in Economics and Business Administration). She studied in Madrid and Paris (ESSEC). Almudena speaks fluent English and French. |
Margarita García de la Calle |
Margarita García de la Calle is founder and partner of Aboo Partners and Head of its Transaction Services Division, which covers consulting, due diligence, restructuring and management services. In 1997, after working for the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs Int. (London), Margarita joined Penta3, S.A., innovative IT company, as CFO and HR Manager. In 2000 Margarita began her career in private equity, as Senior Analyst in the Private Equity team of Inversiones Ibersuizas and then as Associate Director in Iberduke Capital Partners (Duke Street Capital). Since 2004, Margarita was Investment Director at Monitor Capital Private Equity. Currently, she is Managing Director of Villamejor Restauración (holding company of several private equity investments). Margarita García de la Calle is entrepreneur, founder and manager of several start-ups. Margarita is also shareholder and member of the Board of several companies, and belongs to different Business Angels networks. Margarita enjoys and devotes a significant part of her time to academic activities, as Entrepreneurship Professor of MBA programs at Instituto de Empresa, Banespyme-Orange (previoulsy NETI), LiderA and many other institutions. She also teaches subjects such as Venture Capital, Finance, Law, Negotiation and Human Resources among others. She often takes part as a jury in relevant innovation and entrepreneurship awards, both national and international. Margarita holds a Business Administration degree (CUNEF), a Law degree (UNED), a Psychology degree (UNED) and an MBA at Instituto de Empresa. Among the awards, Margarita has received, are the First National Prize to the Best Academic Performance, the ESIC-CAI ASTER award in Market Research, the Giner los Ríos honourable mention Award for innovation in education and, recently, the Asimelec Award as member of the team of RTVE program "Fábrica de Ideas". |
